YomaBarr Hypaethral brings me back to my roots which were hardcore. Over the years I lost the genre from sight and I had no idea it developed so greatly :) thanks! Twisting, emotional album subject to interpretation. Mr. Beksiński would be proud. Lyrics to Mother's Love murder the world.
bcb723 thumbnail
bcb723 The first 2 parts of Ancress’s four-part, two-LP series, each song is based lyrically & thematically upon a painting by Zdzisław Beksiński. From the album notes, "Beksiński refused to title or discuss any of his art, leaving his oeuvre completely open to interpretation." This is carried into the writing and lyrics of "Victoria/Jeiunium" (which translates as conquest/famine), that from multiple listens begin to reveal hidden meanings in the music. A beautifully constructed and unique work Favorite track: Seven Sorrows.

Darknight OH YEAH this is my kind of music, repeated listens is a must on this stunning record. Ancress incorporate everything here, you have blasts of grind, sludge and metal that intertwine into a monster album. Favorite track: Force Fed.

She sits in judgement "Mother is the name of God In the lips and hearts of all little children" Mother Protect me from what I desire Flowers wither beneath her hooves In loving arms, the world ends - The world's end My matriarch of misery - Alpha and Omega The end of the beginning: The beginning of the end "I looked, and behold an ashen horse And she who sat upon it had the name Death An hades followed with her" Mother
Trampled, crushed beneath the weight of refuse Parasites seek the light Swallowing shit Feed me lies Devour The Centre Feed me lies [Swallowing shit] An endless stream of swill Carapaces caught between gnashed teeth Sickness begets sickness Choke upon her words Fed me lies Force-Fed shit

Those guys are still stuck in the game. Yeah, they can't get out. As the years piled on them, so did the enemies. You keep your distance. They said, 'You never look over your shoulder; You've got a life.' I said, 'I never look over my shoulder but I never allow my around... my surroundings to be unseen.' He said, 'I'm going to tell you guys this: If you corner him, he can be an ugly man. If you attack him one-on-one, you ain't going to win.' He told them, 'If you're going to get me, nail me from behind.' He said, 'But if you don't pin him, run for your life.' That's what he told them... Ten years passed. But one night, some guys broke into his house and they beat him to death. I will never open that door again.

Once vibrant and warm, now deceased and decayed We watched as the sun rose every morning Until the day our world ended Blot out the sky Entwined, entangled, ensnared Heart to heart Chest to chest Consumed and enveloped Merciless We seek solace She died in those arms Those arms Vomit tephra The Earth shudders I will never let you go I swear Until the end of days Until our last breaths Hold me and I'll never Let go
Sound thy horn Herald the apocalypse Dead lips, dead air "Woe to thee that dwell on Earth" A single note Hell unleashed Her siren song The end is nigh As trumpets fade Glory decays Sing the sorrow The end is nigh Skeletal Of harm and hate Wrath has come The end is nigh Creation from destruction Built of bone, born of ash The notes fade, her glory decays To ruin we fall From ruin arise Fall upon deaf ears Soul devoid of empathy Her touch wounds Her caress rots To ruin we fall From ruin arise
They say "Creation is crucifixion" From up here, she can see "For miles and miles and" There is not a thing worth saving Or believing in Don't pray for me Don't bleed for me Don't die for me My sins are my own Seven sorrows of Mary My sins Raven's circle, awaiting the feast My sins She'll never soar again Her wings can't bear the weight
Through valleys littered with shadows of memories long past Life is a journey with only one destination No way out but through No way out but through Dusk falls, orange and red When I stumble, the darkness reaches Falling forward Staring back A trail of loss The weight of years Pressing down Crushing her And there has to be more than this Point of no return Step by step, farther and farther Immobile They watch, they wait Trip, stagger Silent Turn back before it's too late Judged by dead stares Protect me And there has to be more than this Protect me A life once lost but never found Protect me And there has to be more than this All paths lead to the same end Survival is not enough
Quixotic 03:41
Civilizations rise; they decay; they die. As societies become increasingly complex, they become inevitably more precarious. They become increasingly vulnerable and, as they begin to break down, there is a strange retreat by a terrified and confused population from reality. This is the consequence of the idiocy of our elite - The inability to confront simple truths about human nature and the natural world leaves them unable to express new models or approaches. They, at the end, speak in phrases and jargon that don't correlate with reality; they retreat into their isolated compounds, indulging in unchecked hedonism, the accumulation of vaster wealth and extravagant consumption. They are deaf to the suffering of the masses, who are repressed with greater and greater ferocity. They become, at the end, extremists or ultra-conservatives, squeezing the last drops of profit from nature and humanity. We're cursed to repeat the cycle of collapse and, the greater the extent, the less they are able to understand what's happening around them. The earth is littered with the remains of human idiocy; we are condemned to drive our selves towards extinction, although this moment appears to be the fanale of the whole wretched show. Yeah, 5,000 years in the making. Now there's nothing left on this planet; we are spending down the last of everything we value. This time, when we go down, it will be global. There are no undiscovered lands left to pillage - no new peoples to exploit. It's a death trap, the whole thing. This is how all civilizations, including our own, ossify and die. They turn us into peasants and the world into a wasteland. Nothing to these people is sacred; we are exploited until exhaustion or collapse. The desperate developed a belief system and erected gods. With the common understanding that these gods would come to life and save them all from disaster. It's the natural response tot he loss of control, despair, and powerlessness. This retreat into magic leads them, in their last moments, to a total detachment from reality - A reality that becomes too bleak to be absorbed. We think we've somehow escaped from the shortcomings of our past; We're so certain we're wiser and greater than those who came before us. We're willing to cater to fantasy and self-delusion, and, by the very end of it all, we're joyfully led over the cliff by lunatics. They look only for way to perpetuate this dying system.

The need to crawl away On wounded knees The road to hell is paved with the best intentions But the path back impossible to find Eyes tear, throat chokes Air sears the lungs The tragedies that shape monsters Ashes to ashes, dust to dust Burn, burn, burn, burn Burn it down and salt the Earth Burn it down and salt the Earth The last survivor; the last mistake Save me from hell on Earth Burn, burn, burn, burn Burn it down and salt the Earth Burn it down and salt the Earth
